The Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse will occur on March 14th when we'll start on the prairies of the Okefenokee and take in the full eclipse at the private home of a collector.

Humpback Whales of Sitka Photo Workshop includes three eight-hour days aboard our vessel, one day exploring historic Sitka, personal photographic instruction and attention, small instructor-to-student ratio and a leader with years of photographic experience. Our focus will be on humpback whale bubble net feeding behavior in and beyond Sitka Sound. Additional opportunities for majestic breaches, lunge feeding, fin slapping, spy hopping, tail lobbing and more. Typically, bald eagles, pelagic birds, otters and other Alaskan wildlife are present.

Travel from Saigon to Hanoi on the legendary Reunification Express, while creating a stunning visual narrative of life in all three regions of Vietnam. From street photography in Saigon's Chinatown and little-known railway village, we'll head up the eastern coastline, to the sand dunes of Mui Ne. By the sea, we'll explore fishing villages and sleepy harbors, snap portraits of traders and fishermen at work with their nets. Between World Heritage-listed Hoi An and the Imperial capital of Hue, we'll cross the Hai Van Pass, one of the world's most spectacular short train journeys. Then it's north to the scenic splendor of a cruise on Ha Long Bay, before we roll into Hanoi, Vietnam's richly-cultured and highly photogenic capital.

Spring on the Georgia Coast with Lynda Richardson instructing

Spring on the Georgia Coast is something you don’t want to miss. The migrating birds are still stopping along the barrier islands, the flora is waking up from a long winter’s nap, and the light is absolutely amazing. With an average high of 77 and low of 62, and hurricane season still a ways off, April has perfect weather for exploring the islands, morning boat rides, and nighttime shooting on the beach. Also, the bugs are still months away!
So, whether we’re exploring the history and nature of Daufuskie, photographing birds from the Little Tybee dunes, or shooting the architecture and culture of Tybee Island, this is a workshop designed to help you expand your current photo skills, and explore new possibilities.

UPDATE: Our wonderful instructor Molly Roberts took a tumble in Mexico and broke her leg. Ouch! She is recovering well, though, and we look forward to seeing her back on the workshop trail in June for the Chesapeake Country Scenic Byway Workshop (coming soon). 
But, in the meantime, we are pleased to announce Lynda Richardson as our instructor for this workshop. Lynda, a seasoned wildlife photojournalist, brings over 30 years of experience to capturing captivating images about the natural world and our impact on it.  Her work has been featured in renowned publications such as Smithsonian, National Wildlife, The Nature Conservancy, and many others showcasing her unique perspective and expertise. Ultimate Vietnam Photography Adventure

Want to capture it all in one go? This photo tour is for cultural adventurers who plan to see and shoot the best of this amazing country in a single, epic adventure.
We begin in Saigon, with photographic explorations of Vietnam’s bustling commercial capital. We’ll wander the alleyways of Chinatown and vintage apartment complexes, mixing with the locals while we capture dynamic street shots. In the Mekong Delta, we’ll cruise the lush-leaved canals of Tra Su Cajuput forest by longboat, and mix with the busy traders at Long Xuyen floating market.
Heading north, we stop by the ancient town of Hoi An to photograph local fishermen working with their nets and basket boats, before a breathtaking trip over the coastal Hai Van Pass. From Hue, we travel north on the Reunification Express to Ninh Binh, a province of mesmerizing landscapes and hand-crafted silk, ceramics and incense. Arriving in the capital Hanoi, we’ll experience and document authentic daily life, from the Old Quarter to ‘train street’, to the atmospheric Long Bien night market.
Our journey culminates with an adventure into spectacular Ha Giang province for a close encounter with the colorful hill tribes of the far north. We’ll enjoy the hospitality and music of our Red Dzao hosts, and spend a thrilling morning at Meo Vac tribal market, where villagers converge from afar to buy, barter and catch up with old friends. It all makes for an incredible photographic adventure, experiencing and capturing this diverse and fascinating country from south to north.

Join a small group of photographers (limited to 7) in magnificent Olympic National Park. Photograph streams lined with mossy rocks, waterfalls, majestic rain forests, and stunning beaches. Mid-May is traditionally best time of the year for greens in the rain forest as well as good sunsets on the coast. Based out of Forks, WA, we’ll visit places like Rialto, Ruby, and Second Beach, the Hoh rain forest, Sol Duc Falls, Quinault and Lake Crescent.

​Brown Bears of Lake Clark

This is our most popular bear destination in Alaska. 
We fly from Anchorage in a small plane to our comfortable lodge in Lake Clark National Park to photograph coastal brown bears and their spring cubs. 
This time of year they graze on sedge grasses and dig for clams on the mudflats. 
The bear density in this area is remarkable. 
We will also photograph Horned Puffins on a nearby island and search for Trumpeter Swans on local lakes.
This tour offers four nights and five days of bear photography instruction at Silver Salmon Creek Lodge.

Brazil’s Pantanal is the only place in the world where one can predictably photograph jaguars. The Pantanal has incredible opportunities to photograph giant river otters and jabiru storks. Birds catching and eating fish! The Pantanal is logistically difficult – we have those logistics worked out. We’ll put you in great positions to photograph jaguars from a boat that doesn’t cram the photographers together. We’ll photograph from both land and boat. Great opportunity to fine tune flying bird photography technology. Join us!
